Halton Arp, Margaret Burbidge - and the Connected Quasars
A great documentary and a reminder of Halton Arp's work
This classic documentary shows Halton Arp’s important discoveries and research on Quasars that still needs to be looked further into. Having three quasars lining up in the extension of galaxy NGC 7603’s spiral arm with several times higher redshift should open up for a much deeper understanding of galaxy formation and also the universe. Same with the potentially ejected quasars from NGC 3516, with 10-20 times higher redshift compared to the main galaxy. There might also be a connection between quasars as younger objects with higher redshift, and the unexplained K-effect where young O, B and Super Giant stars in the Milky Way all can show excessive redshift.
The intrinsic redshift might also mean that our map of the local supercluster could be much more populated with galaxies and quasars, and that there are other important cluster dynamics and intergalactic dynamics, just waiting to be discovered.
Very fascinating to think about the endless possibilities of the universe.
